No I find it doff when athletes publish biographies while they are still active .. biographies are meant for retirement [emoji23] [emoji23] [emoji23]

Sky have more than enough riders from different Nations to send to Worlds. riders who don't go to TDF can focus on Worlds and even those riders can also focus on worlds. Worlds is big for riders, a win or possum at worlds adds a whole lot of those Euro things onto your contract for the next year.

Team Sky had 16 or something riders represented at Worlds for their respective flags.

The most of all the WT teams.

....

Lots of the Hub believes that Louis is clean. (opinion bias because we are understandably patriotic).

A lot of people praise Louis for sucking wheel around France and Spain yet the same people condemn Nairo for it.. funny hey.

It's more of a tongue-in-cheek view of the cycling world with chapters dealing with various topics eg climbing, descending, breakaways, cobbles etc. A little bit of his personal history, in passing, but mainly a...."rip roaring read"!

There is nothing funny about being hypocritical :P But ja, that does go along the same lines that its ok when our boy does something its ok. Another is when Bakkies clear the ruck he is an enforcer, when a aWallabie does it, he is dirty....

Having said that, personally, I have seen Nairo try and attack lots of times, but I have yet to see Louis do that on a GT.

Not so funny when you put it in its real context... NQ is expected to win a tour or 3 so justifiable to condemn him when he sucks wheel

Louis is still learning his trade and most will agree at the moment he is not likely to win a tour or even being hyped to win a tour.

So Louis gets praise for sucking wheel and managing to hang with the big boys... Quintana get slated because he is meant (perceived) to be good enough to compete and out perform the big boys!!

As I said, is relative context based on perceived ability!!

Absolutely, and thats ok too. Eg: In the MotoGP thread, I give Jorge Lorenzo a lot of uphill, why, because I don't like him... no other logical reason. I can admit that.

Where it starts becoming not ok, is when people can't admit it and do things like "He is dirty because I don't like him, and he is clean because I do like him".

Well actually if they said that I would probably accept it, at least that is honest.

But instead we try to reverse engineer logical reasons to justify an emotional biased opinion, and then we don't apply those same reasons to everybody, but instead ignore our own arguments when the results don't match our opinion.

Im using this as a generalisation so not at you, but to give someone uphill cause you don't like them to me is a waste of time and energy with a hint of narcism and personality traight of a bully.

Focus on the riders and teams you do like and the sport you love watching, it seems like a better environment to be in?

Now Landa on the other hand gets slated for being too aggressive. .okay he sometimes conveniently forgets what his job is [emoji23] [emoji23]

Can't please them all hey [emoji23] [emoji23]

But GVA will never please me and it's not even about his dodgy past... it's only because he is Sagan's rival[emoji23] [emoji23]

Have you thought that this is all NQ has and yes he is meant to win GT but maybe he is at his limit and has to follow?

Louis if we look at it that way has finished 3 GT in the top 10. that is no longer learning the trade, you are trading. His goal is to get white jersey yet Yates attacks and wins white, Louis sits and follows wheels.

How is that different to NQ?

And arme Nibali. .the poor oke gets all kinds of grief when he races opportunistic yet Froome is praised for having the balls to go for it.

Even both of their moto tows are seen differently for some or other reason. . Both cheated.. both were DQ'd .. one apologised, one justified it[emoji53] ..and it wasn't Nibali who justified it [emoji12]

People are actually just full of shite.

Perhaps, but if thats what you took from my post then you missed the point and perhaps a hint of persecution complex ( just a joke back).

I used that as an example, please point me to where I am ridiculing any rider on this thread? I am trying to stand for equal judgement for all riders regardless of bias. I spend much of my time defending riders and team from unjust attacks. Look at how that cow on twitter was attacking Jeroen the other day, I said the same thing, she was missing his point. All he said was, there needs to be consistency between the parameters used to judge riders. She misunderstood his point.

Rather try and understand the point I am trying to make instead of looking for bits to apart in the examples and analogies being used. Understand the core message.

Agree with you regarding NQ, and think his ability has been over-hyped

As for Louis, maybe someone needs to ask him why he does not try to attack.... team orders, also at his limit?... and as such he does get condemned for just sitting there... I know it frustrates me!!

As for the difference... I think it is the perceived ability of both riders... NQ expected to win, LM not expected to win

No persecution at all. Not sure how you got that.

I understand well, don't put words in my mouth or try judge what I was saying when I wasn't 'cause you saw it that way.

Thanks.

He says he cant push the numbers to attack and make it stick. LM is expected to win white jersey, so within the GC overall there is the WJ GC. Its just as fierce in many way and they race accordingly.

I don't know if NQ is over hyped, he has won GT in solid fashion against strong fields. Something in the last 2 years is missing. His long range attacks are gone, those were always his icing on the cake.

I also think the Giro-Tour double was the silliest idea ever. He has learnt from that I think he will come back really good again next next year.
