29r Enduro Rims?

So after SA Champs at Hakahana this last weekend I'm down another rim.

Have been running ZTR FLOWS mk3 on Hope hubs this year and generally quite pleased with them.

After the Alps in July the rear was a bit wonky with a few dings, but not too bleak considering the punishment that went down over there.

New rear rim went on in August and on Saturday SP2 "Peppercorns" gave it a proper shot and its another one for the bin. Put a tube in and finished, so not a total disaster, its just getting a bit expensive to keep replacing.

Any thoughts/recommendations on a good, strong, NON carbon rim? 100kg plus rider, 30mm ID.

Thanks

The SPANK 345 is rad. 31.5mm internal, light, strong and feels awesome.

The older model rims were a bit flimsy, but I have found these to be really worth the effort

Spank Oozy Trail 395. Speaking as a 100kg plus rider that doesn't pay carefull attention to line choice - it's awesome. 30mm internal width, with some tyre inserts (eg cSixx Foamo), and 2.4 tyres - pretty much bullet proof.

345 has a 30mm ish ID... the 395 is their 'plus' rim with an ID of 35mm ish.

(Or such and such)... I have the 345's and they are rad. I'm not correcting you, just think you might have the 345's and the 395's specs a little mixed up.... (ok so maybe I am correcting you a little bit but not in a 'let's start an argument' kind of way)

If the Flows are bombing out on you then I don't think there's much other options than carbon. I run both Flows and Carbon, Flows for practice and Carbon on the race.  I've only had to true the Flows twice but never needed this on the carbons. However, the spokes on the carbon have been a problem but the rims are super strong. Oh and I'm just shy of 100kgs.

You are 100% correct, I did have them mixed up. I have the 345s, not 395s...

If I were you, I'd take a period of time to slow down and work on line choice/smooth riding... Hopefully it makes you faster as well as more careful on the components.
