We are currently running the below special on our Centurion Ebikes. Gremeltech Ebikes are HOLDFAST distributors. HOLDFAST are the recommended carrier for our Bosch powered Electric Bicycles!

Surely that is going to make your cadence a bit high? What is the top speed of these bikes?

front chainwheel turns about 2,5 faster than your crank, so you can calculate 15x2.5=37.5

Hi copperhead,

was out of office when this came through.

Glad you mentioned that.

Bosch Ebikes run a fixed 15 tooth in the front and at the back wheel there is an 11 gear cluster typically ranging from 11 to 42 teeth. Your standard MTB has a rear cluster 11-36 and front two chain wheels typically 26 and 36 tooth. So on an ebike there is a much lower gear ratio when climbing of 15:42 compared to a standard 26:36.

However in top gear (at top speed) the Ebike is 15:11 where as a normal bike would be 36:11 thus faster on the flat.

European legislation insists that the electric pedal assistance is only up to 25km/hr and thereafter you are on your own(theoretically speaking). After physically testing the bikes though you can actually, comfortably pedal at 35km/h and reach speeds in excess of 60km/h on a downhill. Hope that this answers your questions.

uhmmmm .....

does not sound "lekker" .....

Would have to give a proper test-ride first.  That gearing does NOT sound right for typical use.  Certainly dont want to be spinning away most of the time.

Let's face it ... the granny 22 in front only gets used on steep inclines, anything other than that you are spinning way too fast.

Hi All,

Just to fill you in a bit better on who Gremeltech Ebikes are and what we do. Please understand...Gremeltech Ebikes are NOT a bikeshop, we are not the definitive guide to everything Ebike (although we have developed a very good understanding of the Bosch powering systems) and we are not attached only to the Centurion brand of Ebike. We are purely an importer and distributor of Bosch powered Ebikes as we believe them to be one of, if not THE best powering system available.

Jochi Gremels is the mastermind behind Gremeltech Ebikes and has developed a "more-than-fond" attachment to Ebikes being an avid Ebike rider himself after going through a massive heart op.

The affinity with Bosch is down to Jochi's technical and engineering background and after researching into the inner workings of the systems and researching competing brands he has his mind set on BOSCH POWERED!

Regardless of being site sponsors we would love to have you, the seasoned bike buyers, sellers, riders and avid keyboard junkies alike to poke, prod and critisize away and advise (if you have constructive critisism) on every model and brand we circulate so that we know exactly what our prospective buyers and Ebike lovers want/need out of their Ebike.

As mentioned we are not stuck on one particular brand. We are looking into all the Bosch brands and tediously going through other components on each brand to ensure maximum bang for buck quality.

Thanks guys
