If that performance up Ventoux made you raise a eye hair, then so should this. The rider who went up Ventoux like that in 2013 was 2nd at TDF and 4th at Vuelta the year before, so pretty established. Where as Mr Yates managed a massive 9th at Giro last year. Still a week to go, but I’m just saying...

That’s like Louis rocking up at TDF in July this year and dropping everybody.

BUUUUUT.......... Yates doesn't constantly watch his stem and "looks" more like a typical GC rider who rides on "feel" so he will fill the void left by Contador and all of the cycling fraternity is happy once again

Yates is riding spectacularly, I do however still believe Dumoulin is going to win the Giro.

I think so too..the weekend's stages sure will be interesting..[emoji4]

I understand where you are coming from.

I have however decided to look at things from a more positive outlook..else I won't be able to enjoy it.

I was so hoping this would have been the winning attack.

Its those disc brakes that slowed him down on the climb

But I think Froome is being beaten out of his own playbook. This is the exact same thing he did 3 years ago. Use the small punchy finishes to gain time.

I wonder if TD went for it first, if he could have kept the gap on Yates, but I think the other GC contenders are cautious to be to risky at the moment and Yates is on a roll, anything goes.

In April 2016 it emerged that Yates had tested positive for the banned substance terbutaline in an in-competition test during Paris–Nice the previous month,[24] where he finished seventh overall.[25] In a statement Orica-GreenEDGE took full responsibility for the test result, saying that the team's doctor had failed to apply for a therapeutic use exemption for an asthma inhaler used by Yates which triggered the positive test.[24] Subsequently, the UCI issued a statement indicating that Yates would not be provisionally suspended from competition due to the substance he had tested positive for.[26] On 17 June, the UCI decided to issue a four-month ban for "non intentional doping", backdated from 12 March (the date the positive sample was collected), preventing Yates from competing at the 2016 Tour de France.[27]

I have to wonder if this is Generic Gen View, or just one being taken for the time being while a favourite is looking "strong"
