this stress is wreaking havoc with my body. Joh. Everything on point, and I gain a kilo. WTF?!

EDIT: Mind you, I am as sick as a dog, so that could be interrupting things somewhat

haha... don't stress it Myles... but seriously, be kind to yourself. Getting sick will stuff you up in more ways than you know - BP, blood markers, cholesterol, the works, so don't panic about 1kg. Rapid weight-gain is invariably water, or you just need to take a nice dump and a weewee, though getting sick may mess with that too

get better, get back to normal, then reassess.

I have been sick for the last 2 weeks with no exersize and lots of comfort food. Needless to say I have picked up almost 2kg. I’m hoping that most of this will be water and will drop off once I start training again and get back into a routine.

Hope you feel better Carpie.

I have also been man down for two weeks. Felt better after a week. Decided to go for a ride. Pushed a touch too hard.

That evening, I didnt feel too good. Next morning I was man down again.

Recovery is a bitch. You bullshite yourself into believing that you are healthy, train again, too soon ...and pay the price big time.

something I've Started to do to supplement my Diet.. Fasting, in my case, Intermittent fasting during the day. getting into my keto zone during the day during the week.

Something i am also looking into...after doing an FTP test today and looking intowatt/kg.

to complete an amashova under 3 hrs i was told it would require about 3.4 watt/kg

which means i would need to improve my FTP by 90 watt...if dropped my weight down to 75 kg i would only need to increase my FTP by 5 watt.

340/100 = 3.4

255/75 = 3.4

not sure if this is correct...i am sure someone will correct me if not.

gona do some research into this.

Fasting sorted out a few things for me. Showed me that food isn't a 'must'... i can do without it if needed.

Trouble is, I could fast for 5 days easily a year ago... now.... no ways... cannot... perhaps it's just my body's way of saying it's enough...

Based on your post in the other thread about your FTP test. If your average power over the 20 minutes was 250W then your FTP is 237.5W (95% of your 20 minute average) so for an FTP of 3.4W/KG at 100KG you need an FTP of 340W which is equivalent to a 20 minute average of call it 360W (357.9W).

And at 75KG you need an FTP of 255W (as you calculated) which translates into a 20 minute average power of call it 270W (268.4W)

From Personal Experience..

When I was on a high/Balanced Carb diet, I couldn't walk passed the kitchen without a nibble... Now on A LCHF diet.. food, although still love to eat, food is NOT a Absolute must, this year there has been several time where we have had a big lunch, and just skipped super as we where still feeling full long after we have eaten. Carbs keep you hungry. fat keeps you sated.

a comment made in one of those videos Dr fung indicates that while fasting you dont loose lean muscle mass...one of the advantages of fasting.
