Did you actually get caught in the rain?

I left the office around midday to avoid it.

Left late enough that I missed all the storms, and it was so dry that there was very little mud on the spruit as well.

According to my Garmin....I would be in 3rd on the Endomondo commuters list. 164km.

Maybe one day, i'll get around to registering and using  :whistling:

C'mon and register, it ain't that much of a pain to do the exports every morning and evening.

Plus going through your stats everyday, always gives you a little burst of motivation to keep it going.

If you not in it, you can't win it!

So now that most of us have commenced work for the new year, what target is everyone aiming for this year in terms of commuting?

I am aiming for 9000 km this year.

Yesterday the weather predictions looked favourable for a commute to work on Monday.  Today they reckon -9 with Ice rain.  Propably will skip commuting then.

I must move further from work to achieve that kind of ditance :) I'll aim for 7,000 km and 100 km ascent!

I often ride before my commute so cannot extend my rides too much.

Why not incorporate the ride before the commute as part of the commute. ie take the backpack with. That is what i do.

Also aiming for 100 km ascent. Just an extra 13 000 m over the previous year.   :w00t:

Are they 2 separate rides? I incorporate my commuting and training. I take a longer route to work. Sometimes go early and join some club members for a 40/50km ride and just swing off towards the end and go to work. On my commuter and backpack its good training.

I need to get back home before kids wake up (6.30), make breakfast and lunch for wifey (who is usually still out cycling) and kids and help to get them ready for creche.

So no luxury to go straight to work :(

Engen rides are hard enough without a backpack ;)
