So who else is doing this?

Just entered (today's the closing date). Will be my fourth - did it in 2009, 2010 and 2012, but only managed to finish all of the stages within the time limit for each stage in 2010 (in 2009 and 2012 I covered all the distance, but missed the cut off for some of the stages).

Nice and fit at the moment, so have some unfinished business.

It's my FAVOURITE road race. Really looking forward to it (and the skop afterwards).

Wish I had the money for an air ticket.  Was also one of my favourate races/cycling weekends.

Quick question, the below groups:

  1. Elite Men (19-29) - Elite
  2. Elite Ladies (19-29) - Elite
  3. Tandems (Men/Ladies) - TA
  4. Tandems (Mix) – TB
  5. Sub Vet Men (30-39) – Group A
  6. Vet Men (40-49) – Group B
  7. Masters Men (50-59) – Group C
  8. Grand Masters  Men (60+) – Group D
  9. Ladies Only (All ages) – Group E
  10. Open Group – Group F

Would every group apart from Open Group imply the normal racing groups and so forth you would get in other races? i.e VA, VB etc.

If it is CSA sanctoined, yes.

Sub Vet Men:  Group A would be VA.

In smaller races like this they normally throw ALL men aged 30-39 in this group irrespective of licensing......

Anyone received any meaningful recent correspondence from the organisers? Event is around the corner and all I have received thus far are annoying requests for information previously supplied.

Feels a bit like amateur hour....which is concerning.

Hi they updated their website with info recently and do post info on their Facebook page. Everything seems to be in place for the weekend

Do they have the tog bag transport option like the Jock? Basically throw your tog bag in the back of the bakkie and it magically appears at the next stage unruffled.

They have always had it at all the previous races I have done.

If anyone needs a race entry, let me know (provided subs are still allowed).  I am unfortunately unable to do the race anymore
