And no sign of the bike?!? Can hardly believe nobody saw anything!

No sign of the bike or anything for that matter. Road would have been fairly quiet, happened at about 04.45.

my 2c i had a mate a few years back who had a similar unexplained motorcycle crash - straight road - no other vehicle- similar injuries all on one side- no memory -brought to hospital by strangers (bike left on road side but too big to carry away unlike a bicycle)

took a while but eventually specialist worked out that he had a small stroke and blacked out - fell - etc

hope your mate has had a good doctor/specialist and a CT scan etc and that his accident wasnt similar but it might be worth asking his docs for an opinion

Similar thing happened to a good friend of mine in the mountain. Luckily another friend was riding behind him. The docs only found out a week later that he'd had a stroke.

Mmm. There was at least one other person who knows!

Some years back a friend of mine hit a brick and went OTB on a quiet road knocking himself out. He lay in the road for long enough that it got properly dark before he came round and had to start figuring out what happened. Silly bugger wasn’t wearing a helmet. He also has no memory to this day of the time leading up to his crash.

But his bike was still there and he didn’t land up at the cop shop.

Hope your friend recovers well and takes care to get over that concussion.

Not cool not knowing what happened or where the bike went...

I took my dads motorbike out once while he was at work and had an accident. (Actually I took it out many times while he was at work, but only had an accident once, which was coincidentally, the last time I ever took it out).

One minute I was cruising up a road in Witbank on my dads GS1000G and the next minute I was standing in the nursing home of Witbank hospital, and the lady in reception (the matron/guard) was saying "I just told you, she's working today".

Somehow I'd walked from the scene of the accident to the hospital nursing home to look for my girlfriend, who was training to be a nurse. I'd clearly asked the matron a question and then asked her again.

Turned out a woman had pulled out in front of me and I'd locked up the wheels and dropped the bike. Didn't hit her car but weeks later I remembered the shocked look on her face when she'd realized what she'd done - so your friend might suddenly remember what happened .

Took me ages of walking the streets of Witbank to find what was left of dads bike, propped up against a wall a couple of km from the hospital.

To be honest hboli4, I will be very surprised if you manage to get a answer to this incident.

It certainly looks that way, I'm starting to think that the only way is for Brink to get his memory back.

Thanks, he had a fill work-up by the docs and nothing out of the normal was found.

The fact that he walked into the police station by himself is the part that I keep coming back too...

He might have told the good samaritan who took him there that he was ok and insisted that they leave but cannot remember this.

If he was hit by a vehicle this person might have taken him to the copshop and dropped him off and ducked.

The police picked him up and took him there and for some reason do not want to be involved...

But all of this is speculation.
