Silverback Sesta Comp

I rode a Ghost Lector 2978 Carbon  full SLX . I replaced it with a Silverback Sido 2 aluminium because the geometry is similar except for the shorter rear suspension travel . I'm not a racing snake but do all my training off road at an average of 22 kph . The only negative is its a bit harder to control on very fast ( 50kph plus ) bumpy down hill sections . Climbing a rocky hill its comfortable in the saddle if you push it .

I've been on the sesta pro for 7 months and loving it.

Besides the obvious bang for buck on Silverbacks, it is a snappy and responsive ride and unlike many other dual sus bikes, I can climb comfortably out of the saddle without any bobbing with the rear shock on middle setting.

Another nice is that the pivots use bushings aot bearings which lowers maintenance costs which is  a bit issue for me.

Can the Sesta owners please help me, can an internal dropper post be used with the frame? There seems to be a hole on the right side of the downtube.

Great bike for speed and can get them seriously light and as long as it's new with warranty.

I have just seen and heard of a couple of frames cracking and breaking badly but those where all the first of them launched so maybe they have addressed the problem. That being said the warranty claims where quick and easy.

I do like the look of them and with bikes being so competitive these days I don't think there is something like a bad bike all just depends on how cumfortable you feel on it.

Contact Dayle at Lyne components.

He used to work at Silverback and designed the Slider frame. He could have insight in the Sesta frame.

His dropper posts are great quality too.

Cool, I will contact him. I am planning on buying a dropper from them anyway.

Hi Guys

I run di2 parts on my sesta pro.

Problem i had is the battery cannot be fitted in the seatpost as there is no place for the wire to run internally or jiun the junction box.

One of the pivots blocks the seat tube to the bb :(

Had to make space in the down tube.

For the dropper post I'm sure you'll face the same issue.

Nonetheless, this is a superb bike.

Also take note if you plan on running 35mm rims and 2.25 tyres, clearance on the rear is very tight!

Thats too bad, was hoping to go the internal route. Do you know what the point of the hole in the downtube is then?

I saw the clearance is quite narrow, I have a 2.2 tyre and it looks tight already.

Yes, you can run a di2 cable in there it says di2 ready.

I ran the wire from the display in there, grommets to seal the hole and the battery is now in the down tube. Wires/battery joins the junction box @ the bb area and exits above, there is another hole on the seat tube above the bb  for a FD but I used it as a exit routing to the RD.

Not sure if you can run an internal dropper post on the sesta frame...

How did you get the battery into the downtube? Through the bottom bracket or headtube?

Also been on my Sesta comp for about 6/7 months. Cant get enough of it after being on a Hardtail for 6 years.

Value for money this is right up there. A serious bike but still a lot of fun. Did some slight mods to get weight down
