Strange, it should be there. But I likely won’t be.

Been traveling way too much to have any consistent training in. Have done no long rides.

Hopefully I can transfer my entry to 2019

Well, that is a pity that you want to pull out of the DD!!

I definitely do not WANT to....

Hello All,

been wondering about people's gearing choices for this event - I come from a road background, so this is all a bit of a steep learning experience for me. On a 1x, would you run 32 on the front or 34 given a 10-50 on the rear? Of course this is all highly subjective and dependent on individual fitness backgrounds etc - I am just hoping to get some views/perspectives from those with more experience?

many thanks!

Ah, the persistent nagging of the 1x doubts. Tell ya, ride a 2x and you never have to worry.

I'll take the 34T   without thinking twice . . . .

but that is just my 2cent.

Good luck.

If you are a strong climber, take the 34, if not, the 32. Most of the climbing comes after the first 100km and by then your legs are tired and you have 5-6 hours behind you.

I ride a 34 oval with 10-50 at the back.

I would say for the first one, take the 32T.

Hi, I am looking for two solo entries. If you have one and want to get rid of it, please PM me. Thanks. Eddie

re my 32T vs 34T conundrum: Part of the challenge is that where I live I have not found any comparable gravel type roads where I could to some "real world" testing ... on the road I do find I can occasionally spin out the 32T, hence started thinking about 34T. But at the same time, I think it is a whole different undertaking with 200km in your legs and potentially facing a strong head wind too ... so will err on the side of caution as Sias advises. Thanks All for the input!
