Ascension Posted September 18, 2018 Posted September 18, 2018 My sweat tends to drip on the top tube, so the top tube bag is a no-go for me, but it does look like a very nice bike and I wouldn't mind having one. You can catch sweat in the top-tube bag for when you dehydrate later in the race. I do like this bike, but I will have to test ride it 1st. I am worried about how it will turn with such a long wheelbase. Most of my riding is more xco style so maybe a stage/endurance type bike won`t suit me.
DieselnDust Posted September 18, 2018 Posted September 18, 2018 Maybe they should have called it "The Fremen" rather than ultra. I can't get over that crap top tube bag solution. Seriously I'm going to have 5o go for therapy to get over this

MrJacques Posted October 18, 2018 Posted October 18, 2018 Very nice, but I have to ask... what happened to bike prices in the last few years? R42k for a frame and a shock, surely it can't cost that much to make it?
Dicky DQ Posted October 18, 2018 Posted October 18, 2018 Very nice, but I have to ask... what happened to bike prices in the last few years? R42k for a frame and a shock, surely it can't cost that much to make it?But if people are paying the stupid prices they will keep charging them. Cyclist are their own worst enemy. Everyone tests the market and if it sells they keep on testing every time. Getting a frame from a manufacturer with their margin built in for a blank frame will be about 11Max landed including shipping and and. So you are paying for the shock, brand, and marketing.I still do not believe the margins are realistic. But that is just me. Brands rely on the fact that you believe that blank is not as good as the branded item.
MrJacques Posted October 18, 2018 Posted October 18, 2018 I don't want to derail the topic... I know there is a lot of R&D involved and companies need to make back that money and make profit. It would just be nice if it were more affordable, especially for us in SA.
Meezo Posted October 18, 2018 Posted October 18, 2018 plus that much money for something that is that ugly, jeepers!
