We were woeful yesterday with flashes of optimism brutally slashed. Def will be relegated. Sadly. But playing Lalana and tall Paul is just an indication of how crap the squad is. And I use crap in terms of the premiership. Half our team would be hard pressed to play for any other premiership side. The only shining lights being walker peters, I love that lad, and Ramsdale who is out injured. To be honest I doubt this side would finish top 6 in championship. And Martin seems relatively safe so I can only think the owners are in for a cash grab currently and will milk the parachute money from FA form3 years. Really sad but it’s the reality of the cut throat world which is premiership football. Saturday away to Brighton, next Wednesday home to Chelsea then away at villa and home to spurs. Can’t see more than a point or 2 at best. I know, am meant to be optimistic and all but **** it. Been around this game long enough to read the writing and no change of manager going to change that.

Farnborough lost away too so down to 6th. 2 home games coming up so will be in that number. Then

made some coin on Leeds after they went behind. So not a total wash. 🤘

Went to the Farnborough vs Worthing town game last night. Cold night out but hey, the platinum lounge is always warm and inviting.

Great game and a solid 1 nil win to keep us in the hunt for playoffs/ promotion. Best season since I been going to Boro games. Nice vibe, 749 at the gate.  A pint and pile of chips with seasoning keep me watered and foddered. Home just 10pm too.

first time I ever seen a fight there, players had a good go at each other. Thought a few reds would be handed out but ended up 3 yellows, 2 of which were for coaching staff and the 3rd for our player. Farnborogh play in the 6th tier, and even in theses lowly trenches the competition is hard with no quarter given. The players even wear them lil bras with sensors to measure vital signs and distances etc. data being collected. I have delved into the club financials as much as I can online, the wage bill for players is around 800k per year. Handful of players have full time contracts and the top earner on around 40 k a year I reckon. A lot of players on weekly contracts and get paid when they play. They on about 400 quid a week. So ultimately they have to have other sources of income. It’s hellishly competitive which surprises me. Not sure how the clubs make money given the gate and other sources of income.

Appreciate the fascinating insights, thank you.

Cheers, going to be at a lot of footie matches this December. I just enjoy the whole vibe around football.

last night there was a game between Portsmouth nd millwall which was postponed due to a power failure. The fallout of that is going to be severe I suspect. Been to Fratton park , it’s a bit of a hovel.

Despite some teams deploying 2 players to mark him, Bukayo Saka now has 15 goals and assists this league season.  That's more than the whole of Man United.

West Ham fans moering one another unconscious in the stands?  Sounds about right.

Rumour has it goooners fans were in the West Ham section. We wait n see on outcomes. When I lived here in the 80s my room mate was a hammers fan so went to games regularly out in Upton Park. Tickets were 2.75, a few bevvies and off to football. The hardcore hammers fans were hardcore folks. Still are. I was never into that ****. I like my teeth just the way they are. There some folks in this world you just don’t **** with. simple lesson

saints had a great game, but for a lunge we could have won that.

farnborogh had a sublime game coming back to win 3 1.

city, well one should never write them off but alas.

and lastly, I took a bath at William hill this weekend. Dear me. Lesson learnt, never wager 3 pints in as the beer mist makes one an eternal optimist. But I came within a goal of a really big win.

And I see ole Danny is embroiled in fraudulent activities. Allegedly.

What the hell, already wealthy and still a crook.

Bit of an ogre when it comes to finances and the rape allegations, but more so when seen gobbling soft desserts.  Man has a trick jaw.  His wife is a humble Methodist minister with wit and charm, a real-life beauty and the beast.

SA footie needs a massive shake-up from the joke that it is.

Unlikely but wth, going to game in a few hours, pints and pie, complete sell out crowd, DJs and a band and some other entertainment. Going to be epic.

edit: if one places a bet on man united and saints to win tonight odds are 76:1.  If you add Newcastle to the bet odds are 320:1. Just wow.

Well now. Before getting into the game itself st Mary’s was a hive of activity. Sell out crowd. There were bands and djs and light shows and fireworks. It was like a carnival. Beginning to resemble the side shows like American sports. Gone days of dodgy pie and pint and watch the footie.

as to the game. Well. Disappointing. Some flashes of great play over shadowed by school boy errors. The second goal was a howler. The woodwork saved more than the keeper. And the red card. Mate, you’re professional not a lout. Folks started leaving with 30 minutes to go. Maybe martins time is up. The Chelsea fans were loud and sang and had a whale of a time. As saints fans were leaving early they sang “ oh when the saints go marching out”. I laughed.

took video and only few snaps. This was where we sat. 45 quid a ticket. Last row before the larney hospitality suites where a ticket would have been at least 500 but u get a 5 course meal and unlimited beer and wine.

great night out irrespective of the score  my mates lad loved it and during warm up we were literally 5 metres from his football hero’s. He will remember forever  must say palmer looks like a juvenile delinquent and culchillo(sp) is a short dude

A Man United supporting mate this morning:  "Without corners, Arsenal would be bottom three."

"You're about to cream your pants, imagine where we'd be without a goalkeeper?"

PS.  I change the channel when Gary Neville is on.  While skipping channels post-match, I was lucky enough to come across his and Roy Keane's reactions at Arsenal's 2nd goal.  Two sourpuss frothing mongrels.

Spurs are now 4th of the London sides. Ange must be fired.

and spurs cost me money tonight. Think I need to stop gambling. 🤣

I've said it before.... Spurs' coaching system needs a wake up!! There's no other way to explain the continuous poor defending in the box.

I don't bet on Spurs games for a while now... not that I've made money, lol

Farnborough game postponed due to a storm so heading out to an Aldershot town cup game which is still on. Hopefully it’s on as stadium is only 5 miles from Farnborough stadium.

Left home at 12:30 and Caught a bus into Guildford and then a bus from Guildford to Aldershot. Met my mate Rob on the Aldershot bus and his eldest son, he and my youngest son went a local primary school together. Maintained a friendship ever since, he is an ardent spurs fan and we regularly go to a local pub and watch football.

Got to stadium at around 13:30. Went into who got my ticket and bought a scarf. I left home and thought no scarf needed today as weather indicated around 8 degrees, but in Aldershot it was bitterly cold with the wind. Damn, it was cold.

a pint, chips, and a chat and into the terraces at around 14:40. Even colder there as the wind swept over the wet pitch. Fingers were frozen so not many pics.

Suffice to say , a 3 1 win sees Aldershot progress to the next round (4th) of the FA trophy. Crowd of 1269 people in and given the conditions that’s a good gate. It was bitter cold in the stands but full voice of the fans and good to see a lot of youngsters in. Proper football, proper English winter, proper fans. Took bus home and got in just before 7 to a tipple. ( the foto of the pitch was taken at 14:40 by 15:00 ithis terrace was full , ground holds about 5000 I reckon )

next game saints vs Liverpool on the 18th
