Already José and Anccelotti named favorites for the permanent job

If reports are to be believed the club and Mourinho have come to an agreement.

Moronho will just screw the club up even more.................make huge salary demands, change all the staff and be as arrogant as ever, without the results.

Big Mistake !

Agreed.. won't be long until he whines about not getting the players he wants.

Eish... sad, sad day.

Huge fan of Poch, but in some ways this has been coming.

I hope he comes back for a second spell in the future - maybe this project of his had just run out of steam. He did perform minor miracles though and for that we will be forever grateful.

I can also only tip my hat to a gentlemen of the game who carried himself with calm and pride, whoever gets him will really be getting a special one.

On Mourinho, I am not a fan, and never have been... but as a Spurs fan I will give him a fair crack and hopefully he will bring in some trophies - that is one thing he seems to be good at, and it's something that has been lacking from our club at a time when we definitely should have brought home some silverware.

Let's hope this works out well for all concerned - Mourinho gets back his spark, Spurs finally get some silverware and Poch the backing and credit he deserves at a top club.

Good luck.. he likes having a target man up front and Kane is that..but I donno how it will go in the long run..he likes spending and bringing in players that he wants when he wants and when he doesn't get what he wants he is very vocal about it and gets grumpy... that spills over to the dressing room.

He likes a strong core spine of players... we actually have that (when they play to their potential.

I think the big problem, like you mention, will come in the transfer market, we are not Real, Chelsea or Man Utd - we do things differently, and having a stadium to pay off, that's not changing anytime soon even if the clubs income is rapidly growing.

Jose must have bought in on the club and the way Levy does things - this hasn't happened overnight, he's been linked with us for some time, that despite the obvious differences in ethos - so what has been promised and what Levy will deliver for him will set the tone pretty early.

And the transfer window is coming up fast...

Good news, we don't necessarily need that many players, 2-3 good players will likely do the job along with the recruits from July being more settled. But the key challenge will be what happens with the wealth of talents we have in the departure lounge - Eriksen, Rose, Alderweireld and Vertonghen are 4 top players, if they go, we're back to square one and probably even worse off.

Official now

Now all the horrible rumors of him coming to Arsenal can disappear as quickly as they sprung up.

In all honesty I don't think he is an improvement on Poch however he does tend to bring some sort of silverware home in his initial stint at a club. I just can't see how he is going to get along with Levy. Thier beliefs in the transfer windows are polar opposite.

I see he will be earning double what Poch did... Now that is a bit of a kick in the teeth for Poch imo

I can only hope for anyone involved some commitments were made to Mourinho with regards to players being brought in- don't know if I can stand him starting moaning in January already (although Spurs fans must be a bit used to that by now..)

Spurs made a healthy profit last year as I recall. Pay off Poch 12 bar leaves plenty.

While Poch has had dismal results, and I may even have said his job is in jeopardy , I don't think this was the right decision at all. Of course we never have behind the scenes knowledge but this was not a hastily put together job by Levy. It stinks. (an I say that without full knowledge)

I think Mourinho has perhaps realised that if he wants to be employed he will have to make compromises regarding the market and something called FFP.. the "big" European clubs didn't snap him up after he left United... that is telling... Madrid, Juve, Bayern, Inter..all stayed away from him... it was always going to be another PL club.

William Hill have offered 101 odd on jose not being in charge of spurs come xmas day.

Just to good odds to not take a flutter on. 94 pence pays 94.94.

LEts hope he gets fired quick quick

I think it's been quite clear that he has been angling to leave Spurs for a while now - so not really surprised that Levy pulled the trigger. I think it's a combination of his attitude & bad results as opposed to just the bad run of the results over the past few months.

But that they chose to replace him with Jose? Just bizarre, did Levy not watch Man U games over the past 2 years?
