Disco man Posted August 16, 2018 Share Morning On a Garmin Edge there is map files that takes up quite a bit of space, and I’m sure that they are most probably for other countries. Looking at South Africa and Namibia witch of these files can I remove from my device to make more space?By the way it’s a Garmin Edge 820 TopoActive Africa v3.imgGmapprom.imgD601700A.imgGmapgc.imgGmapdem.imgGmapbmap.imgGmaptz.img Regards

Used to calculate routes on roads.D601700A.img - Absolutely no idea what this one is used for.Gmapgc.img - Map for Geocode data, used to look up POIs.Gmapdem.img - Elevation data map, could be usefull for both road and MTB.Gmapbmap.img - Default base map, no real usefull data on it normally.Gmaptz.img - Timezone map, only usefull if you travel between countries with different time zones. Disco man Posted August 17, 2018 Share Thanks all Garmin support feedback is that I will be doing it at my own risk, but that I could remove the following files: gmapgc.img - 2.1Gb gmapprom.img - 3.7Gb I've removed them and the unit still seems to be 100%. At least I've opened up some capacity on the unit. Pulse
