Rock Shock oozing grease on first ride

I noticed grease oozing out of the back rock shock after my first ride, see picture.

 

It seems to work fine just want to make sure nothing is wrong?

Fairly normal as far as I know. Just some assembly grease popping out. If there was a problem you would see a lot more coming out.

You should see little bit of greasy/oily stuff after each ride - just wipe it clean.

I'm sure some suspension gurus will confirm shortly...

Someone got overly generous when applying the SRAM Butter to the seal.

Yip normal as PeterF said someone went happy with the sram butter just keep the seal clean but for the first couple of rides it will do that getting less and less.

Mine did exactly the same, after a few rides now I see that it's stopped, guess it's not enjoying the ride as much as me anymore.

Red rubber grease is red. SRAM butter (AKA Slik Honey AKA Slickoleum) is yellowish. RS seal grease, which is what should be in there, is light green.
