Funny thing is, after being dropped from the $ group, I rode most of the race with the % group. There was A LOT of white line crossing going on.

But sorry, that shouldn't be mentioned. It's only ever the a******s in $ that would dare do something like that.

Who said it's only $?

Said no one here ever.

But the a*****s in $ have been telling us noobs we can't expect to to understand why $-riders cross the white line if we haven't raced there ourselves.

Exactly.

And yes, that is EXACTLY what Buchanan said in the SCT thread.

I didn't say it was ONLY $. I said % were doing it too and that's why the marshall pulled his car up in front of us ( I was in %).

I think it was you and a couple of others babbling on about how amazing the riders are in $ and you won't understand etc. cos they are so pro and amazing.

OK, then Buchanan is wrong. So you only realised that it's not only in $ where this happens when you were dropped to %?

A lot of the front bunches stay mostly together, in fact it can even be worse because bunches often merge which is not something that happens with $. It's only from the middle bunches where riders split up in smaller groups.

I have ridden in $, understanding how the group dynamics work there is not as hard as understanding heart surgery.

Except I never said that only $ do it. I was in % and they were doing it too. I said as much.  These guys pick and choose and create straw men to argue against.

They seem quite dim to me and are dishonest arguers.

Ai, doing so well then grabs for the ad hominem.

I rode both SCT and 99er in %. The white line issue was MUCH better in 99er,and I firmly believe it's all due to the quality of the marshalls.

It was day and night. Yes, a few guys tried their luck, but was immediately put back on the right side of the road, with some reprimanding to go with it. The result was that people was less keen to take a chance, and if they did made sure they got back in line asap. There were a few places where this slowed things down a bit, but nothing major.

The Marshall also did an excellent job in getting cars past the bunches, again a marked difference to SCT. I felt much safer in 99er.

They relaxed the "discipline" a bit on the old Malmesbury road, but I think they made good judgement calls there ito the amount of traffic vs visibility down the road vs allowing cyclists a bit of leeway.

Thumbs up from my side.
