Are they trying to rejuvenate the aluminium frame?

Peter Sagan to race alloy frame and tubeless tyres.

Three-time world champion to race Allez Sprint Disc frameset at Down Under Classic.

Maybe they are actually closet BikeHub users and are answering the thread 'Should I upgrade to carbon wheels or carbon frames'?

It is the Tour Down Under.... It will be interesting to see if they race them at real bike races......

PR stunt to generate some hype for alloy bikes since Jap and Chinese manufacturing costs are sky-rockting this year and bike prices will follow suit

and its not like carbon is getting cheaper

...maybe thats just me

Well ally Ali race bikes have been lighter than the carbon ones.

It is just that they normally spec the Ali bikes with lower spe heavier components. We'll that is my take.

I think someone once said it's not about the bike?

In this case, it is all about the marketing.

This bike weighs less than his carbon bike... alloy frames are also made in China so manufacturing costs will go up for them too.

PS.. I hear the UCI will shortly prescribe steel only road bikes for all grand tours.
