Bbbbbbbb Posted January 30, 2019 Share What is a recommendation for a decent alu midlevel hardtail? Something like the old alu Giant XTC? Need a bike to do some local trails as well as commute to work and back. Want a bike thats “relatively “ low on maintenance so no dual sus. Pref a Fox or a Rockshock fork. A SLX specWill probably just convert to a 1x too Any recommendations and estimates on price? ZAKE

Onegear Posted January 30, 2019 Share Was going to try and mention maybe going for a plus size 27.5 hardtail for added comfort on your commutes and added grip on the trails. Such as a merida big Trail. Which is great value for money. And that plus wheel should have a circumference of a skinny 29er wheel. Hopefully making it not fall under the 'junk' category. Grease_Monkey Posted January 30, 2019 Share On a serious note, I'd be looking for a steel frame - it ads quite alot of comfort to your ride. On One Inbred, Cotic Solaris etc... will be a bit more pricey, but older models can be had for under 10k. Hairy and Bbbbbbbb
