Thru Axle Parts needed for Hope Pro 2 Evo hubs

I need some help please, I have searched the forums but can't find something similar.  I hope I explain this well enough, otherwise I will take pictures tonight and post it here.

Some background.

I have a set of WTB KOM wheels with Hope Pro 2 Evo hubs, these wheels were used on a previous generation Scott Spark with QR axles.  I then sold the Scott, took the WTB's off and put the standard Scott wheels back. Then I bought a Spez Camber that has thru axles on wider alloy rovals so did not do a wheel swap at that time.

Now I would like to use the WTB wheels fitted with some easy rolling tyres on long training rides and races like Transbaviaans, but I need some extra parts to make the wheels work on the Spez (Front: 15X100, Rear: 12X142).

The Hope Pro 2 has removable end caps to make the wheels thru axle compatible, so once I take those off the axle (diameter of hole through the wheel) is quite a bit wider than what the current maxle (and the hole through the fork) is that is fitted to the rovals.

I assume I need to buy some sort of adapter axle for both wheels to make it work and fit correctly, and then some new thru axle skewers - but this is just assumptions and well we all know what they say about assumptions.  I would really like to make the wheels work rather than selling them, so some advice will be appreciated

Yep, all you need are the appropriate HOPE end caps, which are available online as well as through many bike shops.

I got those with the wheels, and they are removable, but once I take them off then the hole where the axle pass through is bigger (diameter across) than what my current thru axles are

Edit: Maybe I am just being stupid, and should take photos to show what the problem is

you get different size end caps, which you use based on the size thru axle / skewer you use. For you, you need to get an x12 rear end cap kit and a 15x100mm front end cap kit.

9mm (qr)

12mm (rear)

15mm (front)

20mm (front)

Ahhhhh thank you  , I did not know you get different size end caps :stupid:

Appreciate the response, now everything makes a lot more sense

Apologies, one more question - what freewheel body will I need to run a 11 speed shimano cassette.  There is currently a 10 speed one on the wheel.  Thanks again

I have HOPE PRO EVO2 with the 142 X 12 maxle hubs and need to change my frame from the normal width to boost. Is there a conversion kit to convert hubs to boost ? or am i in the market for new boost hubs

You get end caps and adapters for that too.

Some adapters adds the entire difference on one side though which means your wheel isn't in the middle of your frame.

I recommend getting the MRP Better Boost kit from TrailTech Cycles as this spaces both sides evenly and thus your don't sit with the same issue...

They recently changed website so I can't find it, but here's a link to see what it looks like:

Only problem with this is - there be a wider gap on the drive side between the cassette and frame. Not sure how this will affect the setup on a 1 X 12 and shifting performance

I see Evobikes has the Wolftooth Boostinator which uses a spacer on non drive side which means the wheel needs to be re-dished (probably needs new spokes as well then)

If i decide on new PRO 4 hubs, will my XD freehub off my EVO PRO 2 fit on a PRO 4
