Great service - Gear change Mowbray

On Friday morning my 2 year old Reverb dropper just couldn't get it up.

I took it in to the Gear Change at about midday and asked if there was anything that could be done before the afternoon because Saturday I was doing Houw Hoek.

They took it in - an hour later I got a call to say it was completely poked and needed to be sent away to Rockshox, a process which they told me had never seen cost less than marginally more than the price of a new Lynne. This is pretty much what I expected.

They installed the new Lynn which came with the wrong trigger - they rigged an old Specialised trigger with the logo pinked out with someone's girlfriend's nail polish. Stayed after working hours to do it.

Recommended ... and not just for the coffee.

It's okay Mamil, it happens at your age.

Also stopped by for some help with minor stuff - I was that customer - "I'm in rush can you do this while I wait?"

Anyway, a coffee and lekker egg and bacon snack at their shop later and my stuff was sorted, at no charge. Keep in mind I have never spent a cent there and they did not know me at all.

Very impressed, and I will use them again if I am in the area!

Justin, Dave, James and Tristan run a tight operation and their service is the best I have encountered in Cape Town to date.

I am rethinking my plans to install a Reverb Stealth now.

You may need to explain yourself here. That is quite a harsh statement with no facts given?

He's been commentating on all the posts about bike shops saying how bad they are, then repeatedly punting his own services for Epic, J2C, Sani, etc while using terrible grammar and inaccurate information.  They have been getting deleted by admin as he pops them up so you may not have noticed.

I suspect a banning is probably imminent.

+1 on recommendation.

I haven't come across anyone else in Cape Town with a bike fit setup like theirs, its really impressive. They should really show people the gem they hiding downstairs.

hannock, how wise do you think it is to be having an unsubstantiated go at all bike shops while at the same time promoting your services.?
