cat-i Posted May 10, 2019 Share Cycle-commute the distance and vertical ascent of Sani2C during Sani2C week265 km3445 m ascent http://www.endomondo.com/challenges/40272801 Some notes:- Even though this is a 'first-to-reach' type challenge, I set it up as a 'cycling the most' otherwise it prevents anyone else from uploading their rides. - Endomondo only measures the distance. You will need to record the ascent too.- At Joberg2C my distances were the same, but I measured more climbing on both days 2 and 3. Some of the detours (due to flooding) may be restored to the usual routes next week, so I'm using the Sani2C website's figures for distance and ascent. cat-i Posted May 13, 2019 Share Under strict doctor's orders to not do anything until today. Hopefully will be able to ride tomorrow, so I'll only have 4 days to try complete the challenge. A bit jealous of my work colleagues and some friends leaving for the real thing this week! Bateleur1
cat-i Posted May 14, 2019 Share Couldn't cycle yesterday, so only started the challenge this morning. Last commute was 2 weeks before JoBerg2C, so this was a rude awakening to the cold dark winter(ish) Spruit mornings! At 33 km (451 ascent) I'm about 10 km from waterpoint 1 on day 1. Hairy and Samson are both around Waterpoint 2 of day 1. Bateleur1
Flemish Lion Posted May 14, 2019 Share I'm sadly out of this challenge as I'll be suffering in my wife's wheel from Thursday to Saturday She's in good form and this could be the first time a podium contender (team) will be featuring the guy holding on to a small back pocket peetwindhoek, cat-i, eddy and 1 other
samson99 Posted May 15, 2019 Share This challenge is tougher than i remember. And having to complete it in 8 commutes makes it even tougher. Totally didn't plan my rides for the week but winging it. Is there a way to see how much elevation we each have done for the challenge thus far? cat-i

I also coulnd not find something like that on GarminConnect to set up a personal goal. I've climbed 1396 so far in 3 commutes. samson99 and Bateleur1

Vernon Crooks coming up! 2 weeks ago it was severely muddy. 2 commutes - that's 33.5 this afternoon ad 33.5 tomorrow morning at about 430m ascent each. Within reach and well done! samson99, EddieV and Bateleur1

cat-i Posted May 16, 2019 Share Eish .... have a VC call this evening from the office so no commuting todayYou still have 2 commutes tomorrow. You're on 197 about a km behind Samson? Still very doable. What does your ascent look like?
samson99 Posted May 16, 2019 Share Eish .... have a VC call this evening from the office so no commuting today Is that you in second place? How long are your commutes usually? Mine vary from 25 - 30 km with 210-350m climbing. This challenge has been quite difficult to add the extra needed elevation and distance but a good challenge nonetheless. Doesn't help that the Cape is getting colder.
