Campsbay mountain biking

Hi I am going on a short vacation to Campsbay and I’m taking the cross-country fully with me. What spots would you recommend and where can I ride? I would say I am experienced enough to ride most cross-country routes (even the gnarly ones) I am also deep into a block of training so would also like to know about a spot with a long drag climb close by where I can do my intervals and sprints. Thanks in advance

Not that much happening there, and the walkers will get miffed if you ride the pump track, best head to the northern face of Table Mountain where you will find lots of options.

You can ride up to neck and then take the cable car road to access the trails.

Activity card from sanparks required?

Get a activity card for when you are here, then ride pump track because its open for mountain-biking and the walkers can moan all they want.

If you need somebody to show you around the trails, I’ll be willing to.

Yes. But well worth it for what you get IMO. Lots of riding on TM and Lions head. Also allows you to ride in the reserve which is pretty special at this time of year.

@ the OP. There's loads of very good and techy riding easily accesible from Camps. There will be a bit of climbing on the road to get to the trails but that's Urban Mountain Biking. If you're strong you can get from Camps across the front of table mountain on tafelberg road. and then it's dirt all the way to constantia where you can get on to the greenbelts. If you're REALLY strong you can even get to tokai.

You do need an access card tho. It's illegal to ride there without one and expect a hefty fine and a lot of righteous indignation if caught without one.
