If I hadn't just given an arm and a leg for my new MTB steed and was looking for a new road bike I would definitely go for one of these. Quality build, well spec'd and affordable

EDIT: I can't spell

I didn't even know Basso was officially represented in SA.

Very nice bike. Love the silver colour scheme

Sorry I cant seem to find much reviews on the Venta and was wondering Would this lean more to the race side or endurance side of Basso. Very curious on how this would race considering this geometry nowadays is considered much more endurance based. Would it be more like a scott cr1 to the scott addict like sort of a predecessor?Does it share any features with the diamante?Thank you

You're not going to find end user reviews for a while. The bike is just about on the shop floors. Don't think its in stock at Bikemob yet till end of August.

Yes the geometry is more upright but it is very comparable to the new Cannondale Super6 EVO in that the 61cm and 62cm have identical stack and the Venta is slightly shorter in the reach by 1cm. Easily over come by a longer stem.

Its very much the type of bike most people should be riding.

You shouldn't compare it to the Diamant. The Diamant is a all out pro level race bike that promotes a slammed position. It also costs twice as much for the frame only!

How would it race?

Well how hard does the rider pedal? The geometry is similar to the Super6EVO which just raced the Tour de France quite successfully.

At the price point Bikemob is pitching this bike I'm struggling to see anything better out there as a complete package off the showroom floor. I'd much rather have the made in Italy Basso Venta than the other options you looked at. You could have one in each of the colour ways before you arrive at the price of a Chorus equipped Diamant and you won't be any slower on it. I'll bet its lighter than you current bike too.

Wow, thats a lot of bike for R32k.

Not just that but its just on 8kg for the disc version with the Microtech finishing kit. I'm sure more weight can be saved over time with a few upgrades as things wear out.

It's always good to ask questions. YOU have to be happy with the choice. YOU WILL have to pedal the bike.

But rest assured. There will be no shame in turning up at the ppa training camp or your next race on the Venta. In fact there will likely be a lot of enve
