These guys are winning because they are unconventional.

 

So much in the pro peleton is 'unwritten rule' and people train accordingly and race accordingly. 

 

When you have spent 5 years as a world champ and come into a team as a leader still in your erly 20's, you believe you should win, you expect to win, as well as you won't spend 2 years being 'mentored' on how you're meant to win.

 

It's really good for the sport. JA's run in to day 18 at TDF and Bernal's destruction of the field there after are also indications that things are changing.

I like his attitude and confidence but I guess a lot depends on who is on his wheel when he starts the long sprint.
