Thanks ewep, I had grasped 'ontbytdrankie' (with grateful oustretched hand!), it was a suggestion of an appropriate course of action at that point in the conversation.

If you want to raise eyebrows next time you have a cooked bacon 'n egg brekkie, have a single ice cold beer with it.  When somebody gives you a rough time - and they prolly will - point out that a champagne brekkie is considered the height of sophistication, and ask them to explain the difference...

yep - there will be a lot of posers around - then again - how much time

do you really think jens will be spending with you to "help improve

your ride"?

i am sure that if you hook up with these guys on their normal training rides you will get far more out of it.

ps.

if there are any teazers girls that want to go on my training camp, just PM me.

Just look at the bikes that some of the riders in the open groups ride with.

don't be so quick to judge

- remember that a lot of people do not have the time to train every day

& really manage to only go out once a week-end.  if they can

afford an expensive bike,  why not?

keep in mind that you can not go to a store and purchase the "i did it!" experience - no matter how rich you are.

i really have a lot of respect for someone weighing in at 120kg &

entering a 100k race - even if they do take 5 hours to finish.  if

he rides the latest OCLV & it makes him enjoy the experience

more,  great for him/her!

Amazing how the topic can degenerate with you lot around.  I spent R15k watching the TDF for 5 days and doing the Etape the week before, plus some time with family in the south of France.  Much better deal than riding with a bunch of pros for a weekend.

Quote from PPA website:

According to Martin Vergunst, managing director of CSC?s operations in South Africa, ?We believe Team CSC?s visit to South Africa will inspire South African cyclists of all races to achieve international success.

?It is our intention is to use Team CSC?s visit to boost local talent by giving our local CSC cyclists and other talented riders the opportunity to learn from the world?s top team.?

How the hell do they expect to boost local talent and have all races get a benefit out of this if they charge R15000!!? utter bollocks, call it what it is... a money making scheme... nothing more and nothing less.
