10 speed to 11 speed

I am wanting to upgrade from ultegra 10 speed to ultegra 11 speed.

 

1. Will I feel a noticeable difference or improvement?

2. If I go ahead with this which Ultegra R8000 rear D do I purchase? The SS or the GS I will be using a 11-28T cassette.

Ah, here is some more advice.

 

Ten years ago you should have bought a Campag groupset as then you could have used the same wheels. Campag 10 speed hubs can take 11 speed cassettes without any difficulty.

Looks like either the SS or GS will do. The SS is rated for 11-25 upto 11-30 and the GS 11-28 upto 11-34.

 

You are aware that your STIs need to change too?

I must be honest the R8000 front shifting up to the bigger chainring is nice, its not dependant on you "pulling" the cable it has a snap- over type mech, so changing up is a breeze.

STIs? shifters? If yes then yes I got myself 11 speed shifters thanks

In many instances RD's are multi-speed compatible i.e. your current derailleur may very well work with the 11spd shifters and you could save yourself some money.
