First time owner: Is this bike worth it?

Hi All,

So I'm buying my first bicycle out of my own pocket.

I just want something I can ride and have fun with on weekends, cruise around town, do some long distances and take pictures. I'm looking at a MTB as I'd like to venture off road now and then.

I eventually want to get into road cycling in about 2 years time when I am fully comfortable on the road and I can afford a great bike and built up my fitness.

I'm looking at this Titan Rogue Ryde for R5.2K, https://www.olympiccycles.co.za/shop/titan-rogue-ryde/.

Any advice?

Brilliant bike for the money.

5 year warrantee on the frame.

Easy to point out the basic front shock, or older gears .... but these certainly are robust and will get you into the game, without braking the budget on your first bike ????

ENJOY

If it fits your budget, do it. Some will say look at 2nd hand, but for me MTB 2nd hand comes with costs like drivetrain replacement etc. Yes it is only 8 speed, but they are normally bullet proof.

Get out there already and have fun.

Maybe look at a few options like Merida or Silverback the Titan has Mechanical brakes wouldn't be my first choice

Go and buy it and ride it...
My friend has a similar 8 speed Scott, he rides it like once a month and over Dec when on leave...
Its going on 6 or 7 years now and he has no issues.....(has replaced nothing either!)
