Hi all some advice please

I am running an 11 speed setup

xx1 rear derailleur, xo crank with sram 11 speed 32 crank

and a 10-42 cassette

I really would like 1 extra easy easy gear for my spagetti legs

question 1. thinking move to 30 front chainring

if yes what make do you recommend thats light strong and doesnt break the bank?

lastly and most important the offset? can i take it that it is a 6mm

not sure how to calculate check test etc? Kinda remeber the guy I purchased the crank mentioned it but

it was 3 years ago so just guessing

If the bike is boost, then 3mm off set, if its not boost, then 6mm off set.

thank you so much its non booste

any chainrings you prefer

I have no real preference to be honest.

I currently have Lyne Direct mount chain rings on both mtb's and they work brilliantly.

SRAM GXP mountings, so I would siggest getting in touch with Dayle

Have you considered moving up the cassette to 11-50 and keep 32 chainring?

love to but its 11 speed and I assumed i would have to then upgrade to 12 speed setup

also recently purchased the 10 42 sram cassette

and not sure sram make a 10 50 for 11 speed?

Sunrace has 11 speed 11-51 cassette I think. That will really help those legs of yours.

You also get 11-46 cassettes for 11spd but you might not have the long range derrailleur that can manage the 46 jump.

I wouldn't change to 30T as you'll lose so much on the top end that you'll spin out very quickly on flats and downhills.

E13 cassettes (9-46) work well with the XX1 rear derailleur.

The suggestions come down to budget....

E-thirteen cassette is what? 3 grand on special?

New SRAM cassette is anywhere from 1500 to 4k.

New chain ring.... R400

So while I would say in an ideal world, get a wider range cassette, on a smaller budget, a 30 tooth will give you a better high end spin at a fraction of the cost.

Also, if you compare those with 32/11 Shimano low end, the ratio is 2.909

30/10 is 3, so it will still be a better low end ratio than anyone running 32/11 with their shimano system

Save for what will really make a difference and make you happy over the long term...my guess is the cheaper option will bring short term relief and no real gain for those long rides.
