  1. fantastic reply its exactly what I want to hear I just thought having the wider platform would give my foot a more controlled and more comfortable placement. it would also for some reason give me more confidence on the technical side I see the endurance and downhill boys wearing crank brother mallets or similar that look like flats but have the advantage of the clips for pedaling and control Thanks for the honest reply FYI i would have to stick to shimano as I have xt pedals on both my road and mtb
  2. Hi all Always ridden with shim xt clip pedals Thinking of trying larger platform clip pedal What are the advantage/diss doing this and any recommendation (dont want to spend alot) as i may not like it

  5. Hi all I have both a road bike and a mtb On my mtb I am totally comfortable. Long rides no problem. When i ride my road bike my shoulders (esp blades) get so sore I know bike setup is an option, I have had one on my old bike and and tried to replicate. Here is the question the handlebars on my mtb are 750 wide. My road bike is 400cm should I not try first wider roads road handlebars like 440cm . Anyone fixed there sore shoulders with wider road handlebars

Kinda remeber the guy I purchased the crank mentioned it but it was 3 years ago so just guessing
  11. Hi I have read all the comments about this. And all points are relevant. I did have a situation when riding the delta were I was following a cyclist who was in a helava rush, when we got to the bridge section by the trail head there was alot of traffic and dog walkers. I knew that just be patient its congested. The cyclist didnt care and pushed fast through and he did bump the poor old dog. In that situation we must realise that this section is for everyone and If I want to to race rather go ride at modders, cradle northers etc were you can ride as fast as you like. That's my 2 cents worth

  14. I ride a Yeti and I think having a bigger footprint is not a bad idea, I purchased my bike from Colin and Jared and I have always had a good relationship with them, especially Jared who as always helped me with technical concerns or product advice. They are however very involved in there bike touring company and I am sure it will get bigger and bigger, and I wish them great success their
  15. They have a facebook page, and if you give friendly suggestions , hopefully they will will put in some Much needed TLC I did in the past and they responded very quickly
  16. just found this http://www.jensonusa.com/Yeti-SB-95-C-and-ARC-C-Derailleur-Hanger goes for $26 around R300 rand
  17. I got one from cyclic and they charged me R650 I would try online first I felt that to be a gigantic rip off
  18. Okay so on trying to remove my RD I stripped the bolt, and with all my efforts could not remove the RD from the hanger. I ride a Yeti so Off I went to purchase a new hanger Not to mention the shops name but I was charged R650 for a new hanger. With all due respect to bikes shops wanting to make a living I find this outrages. Its a little piece of machined metal not a gold bar. I can probably buy a cheap bike for R650 What has happened to the price of bike parts that companies think its okay to charge that sort of money What are your thoughts? Am I ranting and raving for nothing? What have you paid for your RD Hanger?
  19. Hi I did try them and it was a great experience very clued up with forks and suspension and very accommodating thanks for the recommendation

  21. Guys for what is worth and bare in mind that this was only my second CTCT. I am no expert in the wind. I did train my arse off, starved myself for 3 months and lost 8 kg I rode to the start, and it was the most terrifying 3 km because of the wind. I was in the cages from the beginning and had resolved myself to probably falling or someone falling into me.I must say I was relieved when they cancelled. At least I left with my Ego in tact On the Monday I did a 70km ride to noordhoek and back with a mate and it was probably one of the best rides I have done in ages. There were +/- 10 000 other riders doing exactly the same thing.
