I heard that there's also waves there for surfers....but no-one actually knows exactly where...maybe next time you cycle there, you can scope the place out and get back to me so me and my mates (I'm a surfer and know how to surf and so do my mates!) can go catch some waves!

Edit...where's that damn font now...thought I had it saved somewhere...ah well...

yeah, there is some awesome spots in the reserve!!

Back in the day, the huge family outings to the reserve was spent by me chasing waves.

We did a ride there on Sunday morning (amazing weather) and saw probably 8 or 9 surfers at what I think was Platboom beach?

The mrs and I rode past the entrance on Sunday and we remarked that we were maybe messing up by not popping in there.

  oooo, ok

I have surfed in the reserve before but I don't know where it was cause all the footage I got was completely ruined by weird black bars that prevented me from seeing any landmarks, I heard its cause locals there have cast a voodoo on the place and any footage taken there is magnetically altered to remove references to any landmarks so when you look at it, you can never make out where you surfed and therefore you can never go back to surf that place again...ever... :w00t:  :w00t:  :w00t:

I've heard that if you want to surf in the reserve you have to go in wearing a blindfold. Even the driver of the car. Which explains the lack of crowds I guess.

I've heard that if you want to surf in the reserve, you have to be born in the reserve...no-one was ever born in the reserve, ever, ergo, no surfers in the reserve....

My mom has an old sepia picture of me about a year old in my cot in one of the Buffels cottages napping with a baboon baby.

I must find it.

She often jokes that she kept the baboon and shoo'd her baby away
