Whats is the difference between a long and a short rear derailer cage? why would I coose one over the other?

 

 

 

And please for those who might come up with one is long and one is short... No...

A long cage will allow you to use cassettes with bigger (easier) cogs eg 27-32 cogs.

If you have the option get the long cage as it works for cassettes with larger(eg 27-12) gear ratios and is still fine to use with cassettes with smaller(eg 23-11) gear ratios. GIRR2008-07-03 06:26:19

That's what I have got also.

 

Short cage up to 25, long cage 27 and up.
