This is the link to the LEGAL Barnetts Manual of Bicycle Repair.

Many of the "freeware" downloadeable versions are brutal pirates of the real product and are outdated. I have one of these pirated copies. The link to more info on the pirate versions is here:-  http://www.bbinstitute.com/verifybm4copyright.htm

It satisfies a lot of the things I need but the newer external bearing BB's and 10 speed drivetrains are not covered in it.

You can look at the Park Big Blue Book of Bicycle Repair. It is fairly technical but covers most of the chores you may need to do to repair your bike.

I also have the Bicycling Magazine's Complete Guide to Bicycle Maintenance and Repair: For Road and Mountain Bikes by Todd Downs

Very informative an well written..... look at this link:-

This 11 Mb file' date=' 684 pages pdf, is at http://www.scribd.com/doc/3285673/The-Barnetts-Manual-of-Bicycle-Repair  registration is free & fast.
Good source of reference, lots of illustrations & seems to cover almost all aspects.

How fast is your line? im guessing its trying to open the file in a browser window which means it needs to pull it first. give it a while and check to see if you have activity on your network adapter.

I will try it quick and let you know

Yeah its like I thought, it will open in a browser window, it does nothing until it has fully downloaded. Make sure you click on the save button before you close it otherwise you will have to download it again!
