Ok, before I get flamed let me just say that I couldn't find a definitive answer amongst the Carbon vs Titanium thread. The question is:

Is fatigue a problem with older Carbon frames. Some say they don't fatigue and age (of the frame that is) is not a problem, while others say the opposite. Which is correct?

Short answers please (that means without without the hijacks and insultsLOL)

I ceratinly get fatigued trying to figure out how I'm going to upgrade to a carbon bike, but my question is more on the actual carbon fatigue.

If I don't get a decent answer soon, I'm going to have to personally invite JB to join the discussion. (Now if I could only persuade BigH to also contribute on one of his "from time to time" farewell visits, we might eventually get an answer AND entertainment !!!LOL)

Fatigue? By this you mean "weaken" or worse "fail" I presume?

Look at it this way, Boeing, Airbus and a whole lot of other aircraft manufacturers hope the correct answer is NO! There are a lot of aircraft being manufactured using CF including parts that are not meant to be ever replaced.

Carbon does fatigue, but it has a much much longer fatigue life than all other frame materials.

If a well designed aluminium frame/handlebar can last 10 to 20 years or more, it is fair to say that fatigue in a well designed carbon frame/bar should almost be non-existent.
