E13 Cassette creaking noise

Hi, just installed a E13 casette on my 2018 Giant Anthem Advance Pro 1. Now I have a creaking noise like bearings. Change bottom bracket, suspension bearings and the noise us still there. Only when pedalling. Changed pedals as well. Any suggestions?

Install the old cassette again and test if the noise is gone? Should then definitely know if it is the cassette.

did you install a new or used e13 cassette?

is this 11s or 12s?

on what make hub did you fit it to?

And did you replace the chain too?

If it is on an XD driver it could be that the threads between the freebody and casette is just dry IMO

Hi, yes I did replace the chain to. It is on a XD drive hub. Will swap the cassettes this afternoon.

Did you user the shim provided ? Secondly you also have to be quite generous with the amount of grease you apply when installing.

I have the same issue with a Sunrace cassette on a Shimano hub. If one greases the hub before hand and then really tighten the lock ring (just watch out you don't strip it), it seems to do the trick.

Sounds like chainsuck to me. Find a hill where you don't have to watch where you're going, get in to a hardish gear, and watch where the chain comes off the bottom of the chainring. If the chain is flapping around, you need to replace your chainring as well.

 

If it's a used cassette it may be the interface between the two halves of the cassette, they can wear over time.
