But, But they were the original Crackondales or did that only start with CAAD6's.
All jokes aside I love my Crackondale Evo6. It has not cracked yet...........

Very interesting rear triangle/dropout setup.

Yes and that was the source of the crackendale joke. Many of those frames cracked at the drop out especially under heavier riders. Although cannondale would become the leader in the reliable production of aluminium frames the learning curve was steep when it came to the 3.0 and 2.8 frames. The CAAD series that came after were a big improvement. By CAAD 4 cannondale was the world leader in alloy frame production.

in terms of value, that is in the eye of the collector. On the open market the 3.0 and 2.8 arent very popular. To a collector it’s probably worth a few thousand rond

The first model had quil stems. The last model year had switched to Aheadset which is the current standard

mine came with downtube shifters, I converted to STi's at a later stage (although I seem to recall it being much sooner that 2012). By 2012 I was riding the Scott I have advertised in classifieds, and thats a 2005 with STi's that I'm sure were factory fitted.

Not sure about Sora, but my 2002 Giant TCR Aero came with Ultegra sti’s. Still have the bike! Except for one mark on the chainstay, “spotless”.

Sora Sti's came out around 2000 in 8 speed, the 3300 series

3400 was resleased in 2007 still 8 speed

3500 was released in 2012 as 9 speed

R3000 series was released in 2016, 10 speed
