Hi Everyone,

I have a vintage Elite trainer that I use, but I want to start using a roller specific tyre. It eats my gatorskins for breakfast.

Any recommendations and what to look out for?

Use the Tacx or trainer specific tire. If you had a 26er I could have sent you a brand new trainer tire 😁

Haha dangit that would have been amazing, do you have a rough idea how long those trainer specific tires last? As long as a normal tire or way longer ? Those Tacx ones are quite expensive but if it lasts then it’s worth it

Haha you have my attention, does it involve putting a 26er rim on my road bike?

But back to your dilemma 😁: I can propose a 26er rear wheel with a trainer tire and a cassette if you are looking for a solution 👍

Go for the TacX tyre, I initially had a Saris tyre, it was a fair bit cheaper, but it did not last long amd was loud, got the TacX tyre, made a HUGE difference to the sound level, and it lasted really well

I realized I have a cassette and upside tandem that don’t need a rim.

BUT my sister in law is looking to a solution like that, if you have a through axle wheel with 10speed cassette laying around then that would be amazing. She has one of those 27.5 merida big seven lite mountain bikes. I’ll send you DM if so

Shot thank you, I’ll probably go for it

I use a continental indoor specific tyre and it is still going strong after a few years and I do most of my training on the idt.

Hi Everyone,

Any idea of how long these tyres last?

Friend of mine have been using the Schwalbe indoor for the past 10 months. Let's say 1 hour a day three days a week.

It starter developing bubble,

Is this too soon or expected?
