Myself and 2 mates rode the area after 5pm. Obviously very busy with on a Friday afternoon

I believe it occurred just before 10:00, but OP can confirm.

Map pin suggests that it wasn't in fact Lover's Walk but rather nearer to Wynberg pharmacy residential area. Bit confused..

It happened at 06:20 on Saturday morning. Riding up Lover's Walk next to Wynberg Boys.

Thank you, SAPS caught them and they have been arrested. I got my bike back, unfortunately they had already stripped a few items and sold them.

How exactly were they caught? Are they opportunist or bike thieves

Great to hear these buggers have been caught. It's just a matter of time before they get nabbed when they start to get this brazen.

I was lucky enough to spend some time at the City's Incident Command Office last week and I can with all confidence say that the City is doing an incredible job of setting up a tech network that's going to make these thieving bastards world very small.
