I've got a Tacx Flux S direct drive trainer. 21 months old (so out of warranty).  Bought from Cycle Lab.

Only done about 3000km. Earlier this week it just went completely dead. no lights flashing anymore; can't connect.

Any advice on where to take it to get assessed and possibly fixed?

Thanks Warren. Did just that. Prompt response and super helpful. Shipped the trainer up to Garmin JHB, currently waiting for assessment and verdict. Cycle Lab was surprised though - not something that's happened to a Flux S before, apparently, so I hope for the best.

I had a Tacx Flow with the same issue. Evobikes sent it to Garmin and they told me the normal turnaround time is 7-10 days. To my surprise I received a completely new unit from Garmin as it happened within the 2 year warranty. Good luck with it !

My Tacx Flux S recently died after a year of use. It was still under warranty so fortunately got given a new one through cycle lab after garmin confirmed it couldn’t be fixed. The frustrating part - after just ONE ride with the new unit, it has also died on me. Extremely frustrating! Anyone else have issues with the Flux S?
I run other devices (printer and WiFi) from the same plug and have never had issues with those devices, so can only conclude that the fault is with the trainer.

you cannot be serious? If replaced with a new unit - surely it carries the full warranty? Sounds like something for the CPA

My tacx flux died for the 2nd time and now garmin does not want to honour my warranty, say if they replace it once the new unit only holds a 90 day warranty. Anyone else had this?

New unit should be warrantied for the full term since the original purchase surely?

Only way this makes sense is if you had 90 days left of original warranty period. You cant expect a warranty to reset to full duration from date when you got replacement

My thoughts also yes when they replaced it the first time. Then the new 2 years must kick in.

Its a brand new unit.? How can the same warrantee not apply from date of receiving replacement unit.?  Thats baffling man..

probably have a CPA case.. would need someone with the correct expertise and know how to be able to help you pursue that though..

No it doesnt

E.g. if you buy 1 Jan 2023 with a 2 year warrant, the manufacturer will cover you up to 31 Dec 2024.

If you get a replacement on 01 May 2024, you dont get a new warrant to 30 Apr 2026. The manufacturer just guarranteed  use of their product for 2 years from purchase date. You may be able to argue for a bit of an extension if you lost use of product for e.g. a month while being returned to them for assessment, etc. Bit not a 'new' full 2 years

So it does stipulate repairs must be warranteed for a minimum period of 90 days or the extent of the original warrantee period left.. ie 6months, 18 months, or whatever..

where i think garmin may be in trouble is that the warrantee must be consistent with other warrantees given by the manufacturer..

A warranty should apply to the specific unit, the purchase date should not have a bearing, if not what is the point of advertising a 2 year warranty on a new product if you have no intentions of honouring? It's not like it was repaired.
