Stages Power Meter connected, but no power reading.

Hi fellow hubbers

I have a strange occurrence (for me at least).

My non-drive side stages power meter connects with both my Garmin device and mobile app, but doesn't give a power reading.
Could this possibly be a battery issue?

Take out the battery and leave the cover off to air out for a day or so - it's possible that moisture has got inside, this normally cures all stages issues.

I had a similar issue, so did this after riding in the rain and then rinsing the bike.
But then I put the battery in the wrong way around, so it still didn't read anything. Naturally, I thought that the unit was knackered and was making preparations to send it back when I thought that I would have another look at it.
Battery back in the correct way around and voila!
I should post that in the own mechanic thread 🤣

I once replaced a battery but forgot to peal off that little piece of paper on the new battery. Took me a while to figure it out.

I think we've all done this at least once.

However, OP's unit is connecting to the headunit and phone but not registering a power value so i reckon its powered up ok but could be moisture in the strain gauge circuit. Also check that the bond of the unit to crank arm is still good. Also make sure the crank arm itself is not coming apart

Just a heads-up, since I am busying BUYING Hardus’s Stages PM;

….he purchased it from someone,and has not fitted it to his OWN bike (I think that is correct, Hardus?), so I asked him to CHECK full functionality before he ships it to me;….so this infoMAY have a bearing on his question.

Here’s hoping, and cheers!
