HRM Stopped working

My Garmin HRM strap/monitor and GPS does not link. Happened suddenly and know the battery was still OK and still quite new. I will replace the battery any way, but any idea where I should start with fault finding after that? Is it usually the strap that goes first (After battery)?

Is it not connecting at all or dropping connection?

Over the years I had HRMs from Bryton, Sunto, Sigmasports and all of them failed for no reason after different periods of time. 

Besides factory reset and new batteries I don't think there is any other way to resolve.

Try putting in the battery upside down, that should reset the monitor. Mine stopped working and that did the trick, more than a year later still going strong

The Duracell batteries have a special coating to prevent kids from putting them in their mouths. Check the packaging and buy those without the baby icon on the card. For some reason it makes the batteries work intermittently in Garmin HRMs.

And here I thought it was just a sticka that one peels off.
