Eventually found route and all was going well until I broke 2 spikes climbing Bothmaskloof - had to carry bike up the climb for a bit until sweeper vehicle arrived on to the next one I guess was super hot and the back markers must have battled in the heat. That sucks .... Saw a couple of dropped bottles, water bottles and gummy-berry juice bottles. Not the day to be short on liquids ... I stopped at the 80km waterpoint ... put my head under the tap ... was only 29 degrees at the time, already difficult .... Super chuffed with my 3.07. First time over 30km/h. 😁 Bike traffic towards the end was fun .... good couple of roadies passing me, still it was hectic passing all the short course riders, many unable to keep a racing line .... PS ... Finish Time timing way out at 3.24 ... . Okay, not an issue for me ... but may hurt those hunting best Argus seeding. Just glad I managed a solid time. Durbie Dash timing went out the window with more than 30 minutes of mechanicals .... mikkelz, Kom and cadenceblur 3

Saw 2 dropped bottles in A batch before we left Wellington. As @ChrisF said, wrong day to be short on hydration 🙈
