Well I had my own bike shop where I build bikes like Bianchi's and Merida to name a few for a couple of years. So I know how to fit a a wheel.

Make sure this goes on record ....

Good luck to them when you refer this to the ombudsman !!

They clearly hope they are dealing with the type of rider that takes the bike to the authorised dealer, sorry ... concept store, to have a valve CORE replaced 😵  yes, they live amongst us ....

Insurance is a scam. Reading this thread, and anecdotal evidence really makes one wonder what the point of it all is. Why do we willingly part with our money only to put up with absolute BS when it comes time to claim?

This is why I use a broker and don't make use of these "cheap" insurance companies. I have only once had a claim rejected because of red tape and nit picking on the insurers behalf when they changed my comprehensive policy to a third party policy without explicitly informing me but hiding it in the policy wording. A few months later I had an accident with the vehicle and they used their chance to duck out of responsibility. This was Dial Direct. I have changed to Santam since and I refuse to talk to any other insurers since that day in 2011.

Disagree with the scam aspect (aside from life insurance, but that's another story on its own). But 100% agree on avoiding the direct providers. A good broker will save you time, money admin and a few other kinds of unforeseen pain, both when setting up your portfolio and at claim time.

That R 100 a month saving from Outsurance / Dial Direct /  A&G won't cover the loss when (not if) they decide not to pay out for whatever reason.

I am currently in the claim process for a cracked frame. RAW seemed very helpful but I guess that I will see the Naked truth soon.
