Well, it is a race, and 96-odd kilometers, with 1560 meters of climbing, could be ‘tight’, having had a smaller, 500 watt-hour battery, I think you would need to be pretty darn FRUGAL, possibly riding in the LOWER assist settings, to get that distance…

My old e-Bike had NINE levels of assist, and typically riding in level THREE(at 33% of max power) got the battery to last for close to 80km, but being sparing, wherever feasible, with the battery…whilst still enjoying the ride!

Keen to hear what others think.

So if there is an e-bike in group B causing havoc by rushing up between the two rows of riders pacing themselves up the Ou Wapad and bumping them to a standstill, he is a cheat ?

It was so unpleasant that a friend who did her first one last year is unwilling to risk it again.
