Good morning all, last year sometime I had someone purchase some first ascent mtb shoes https://www.sportsmanswarehouse.co.za/product/first-ascent-gravel-mountain-bike-cycling-shoes/ I am a regular size UK7, they advised him to take a size up if my normal size is UK7 so I have a UK8. I am looking to get a better pair of shoes now and I was wondering if I should get a pair true to my size. At the time I was new to riding and did'nt know much about sizing so I just took their advice. What are your thoughts? Also I need help choosing between the shimano XC502 or the shimano XC702 shoes. Thanks :)

have a look at lake shoes, they have reasonable priced (3k) and very expensive (7-9k), but they also provide a sizing guide ie trace your foot and measure certain parameters, Shops will push you to buy longer when you need wider causing issues for you. Not all brands offer a regular and wide but lake does. I had poor fitting shoes for a while and upgraded to Lakes and have never been more comfortable. I spent a large amount of money trying to resolve "hot foot" issues.
