UCT Cycling

My son start as first year in 2026 at UCT. Still looking for accomodation for him. He loves cycling and would love to live with other cyclists. Where is the best place to stay near campus and mtb routes? We are from the klein karoo and dont know all the areas and trials in cape town. Please help!

Anywhere around Claremont/newlands/rondebosch/rondebosch east maybe Observatory is very close to campus and all within 5km of access to table mountain for MTB routes. 

Those areas all have access to the uct bus service as well. Plenty of amenities close by all of the above mentioned areas too.

Savage HQ that has a flatlet that it rents out in Rondebosch. 

Would have to endure a road cyclist coming and going, there is a bike for a garage as well. 

Will see if our student is moving out or not.
