Am I the only one that was not impressed with the finish at the jock Cycle Challenge? <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Got there within the time limit for the first Bus and --- No bus and no cool drinks at all.

Imagine after a 6 hour trek over the mountains and nothing except a medallion at the end.

Must say that all the water points along the route were brilliant just the finish sucked.

Had to catch a return lift in an Empty Coca Cola Truck!!!

Hey, now that you mention it... I never got a medal!!!

I'm still sure it is the toughest one dayer out there - Imagone 5% climb to the finish line!!!!

I took one look at the Coke truck and promptly decided to wait for the 15h30 bus!! The 13h00 bus left earlier because it was full to the rafters and woulnd't have been able to take on more passengers.

How was your ride in the truck?

You didn't get a medal.  They handed out a wel earned "trophy".  But that was at the Energade tent.  I asume they were out or already packed up by the time you got there.  Never used the bus services before so would not be able to comment on that.

By the way, congrats on finishing.

Bateleur1 - Packed up by the time the 71st cyclist gets in...

Then the race is as bad as the guy that started this thread says...

I must admit I didn't search for a medal, I have never had the need to...

Attempted it... decided to bow out gracefully at 126km. Know it was gonna be tough, but underestimated it by far. Hillclimb, ya, did it in 10minutes, in the car. Took some photos up there, nice view, except when you're on a bicycle. Will just have to up my game a bit for next year.

Pulled the brakes gently, stopped at the side of the road in order not to irritate some motorist. Stopped our support vehicle, bent over the bicycle and removed the front wheel. Kept the pose for 3 seconds, remove the wheel, and got into the car.Big%20smile
