Hubbers in Ceres ?

[Prince Albert Cycles]

We are stuck in Cape Town with roads closed  and need to get back to Prince Albert today 

Any reason why we should not go via Malmesbury Tulbach Ceres and then to N1 ?

We left CT at 9 yesterday .

Stopped 10 km before Ceres Mitchell’s Pass is one huge mud slide .Turned back . 
Tulbach Porterville Citrusdal Clanwilliam van Rhynsdorp Calvinia Williston Fraserburg Leeuw Gamka Prince Albert .

All the way in rain and wind . Home at 9pm

hectic, that's quite a round trip.. I saw the travel advisory indicating the route you took, but couldn't see what was wrong with mitchell's pass.

 

if only this image came out a bit quicker - 

 

not sure if N2/R60 would have made more sense in hindsight, I know meirngspoort is kaput for a while, swartberg pass open?

Swartberg also closed 

 

Not sure if it was possible to do N2 - Swellendam - Ashton - Montagu - Koo - N1 ....  one heck of a detour and no alternative if any section got blocked ....

We stay in Porterville and my Wife teaches in Ceres at the high school. Word is, its going to be closed for 2 weeks at least. Ceres has NO power and NO cell reception.
