i'll bet on it...i see it all the time. whats a 4 way stop to a cyclist when a red traffic light is ignored with impunity in the middle of "town"

If that is so ... then cyclists can't really blame motorists for not seeing them & not having patience & all kinds of other things???

ja...as a motorist there is nothing worse than seeing a cyclist flying thu a 4 way without even yielding....i cycle with a group after work once a week and we have to negotiate the traffic thru the 'burb' we find if you stop at 'our 4 way' the motorist, in most cases, wave you thru. at the height of Argus fever i find the motorist are a bit more impatient but it improves after the Argus. i think the motorist then see those that are still cycling post argus as the more serious cyclist/road user that the weekend / once a year road warrior.

are you saying the more serious cyclist have more respect for road rules?

i find it the other way around  Unhappy

& then, when i'm involved in an ind=cident with a car, the judge decides i was 50% responsible ... & the only thing that i could have done to avoid the crash,  was to not be on the road ... but who can blame the judge, if he sees cyclists ignoring any traffic rules on his way to the court every day? Cry

Guys, you don't know if Kenneth Ketterer skipped the crossing or not so until then we just hope Kenneth is back on the bike soon.

Many cyclist skip various intersections no matter if they are professional or not. Most who do actually stick with the traffic laws is the funriders just starting out or the real slow ones that see each intersection as a recovery point.

This is really sad news.  Just Wednesday evening I was chatting to Dad... asking about Kenneths recovery from his broken Collarbone.... to read this today....

Kenneth, get well soon, and you have many more very' talanted' years ahead in the cycling world, so take time to recover fully, and then aim high again.

Guess I must say " C U at Killarney NEXT Year......

Get well, and all the Best to you, and your supportive family.
