It is clear to me that you don't take your 5 kids , 2 GF and wife to cycle with you ? I go and find technical stuff to ride if the need gets the better of me and NF got plenty of it . What is nice that you can make it as technical as you want it to be .

You can't really compare Logwood with Northern Farm' date=' they cater for different types of riding/riders. I'd gladly pay 50 bux to ride single track with drop-offs n bridges n steep crazy descents n platfotms n obstacles before i'd pay 9 bux to ride neverending boring jeep track n sand roads and zero technical stuff. It costs money to maintain a place like logwood, not nearly as much to maintain the 'trails' at NF. It's all relative.

Giba will charge more too eventually. Is 50 bux a lot of money these days...?

My feelings exactly! I can spend hours tearing up Inner Circle, working on my cornering. Well, not really HOURS, since my lungs & legs don't allow me that long. LOL

Or the rush of going down the drops in Sugar Bowl (plus getting up them) is great! Or tearing through the 'forest' in Zombie Birdhouse! And the best is that the trails are always in great shape. I don't think R50 is too much for that? For me it's worth it, but maybe that's because of the type of riding I enjoy.

If I had 5 kids, 2 GF and a wife, I'd also want to throw myself off the most technical obstacle I can find ....

... with out the bike. Big%20smile

Sooner or later someone is gonna bring up that our parks are cheap compared to overseas parks.

Yes, especially since NF is as good, or even better than Whistler Park! Stupid Canadians getting ripped off! Losers! Wink

True!

I don't know what scares me more - trying to keep 3 women at bay, or the 5 kids! I think the kids are worse, since 3 women can maybe = 3 times the fun (BIG maybe), 5 kids = 5 times the terror. Wink

Has Logwood managed to maintain their park? Seeing as any potentially thrilling obstacle is being removed from the Spruit I think I shall make my way there and see what is happening. If it's R50 you expect a certain level of track. If you don't get it you will never go back.

I really hope Fourways is ready by the time they tar the spruit.Evil%20Smile

Jonkershoek is R20 for the day, R200 for a year pass,so 10 rides and you basically "paid" for it!and the singletrack is good!think dirtopia builds it,they have just put in a new one which takes about 5mins to ride at quite high speed which gives you an idea of the length of it, complete with berms, few small jumps and 1 0r 2 other obstacles....

p.s. join maties and come have a chat to me and ill get you a year pass for R100!ShockedWinkBig%20smile

Logwood is always perfectly maintained, only ever seen it overgrown slightly once, at the end of the rainy season, otherwise it's in tip top shape. Rode there last week and only zombie birdhouse was closed coz they're workin on something at the start of the loop...

This time of year Logwood is great! When we get lots of rain Zombie turns into a swimming pool Confused

I think I'll head out there Saturday morning actually, if I get around to bleeding my brakes tomorrow night. Been riding without a back brake for the last few weeks Dead

Well, I live in the east and there's no-ways I'm going to drive 50km to Logwood, N/Farm or even 30km to 4/Ways when I can ride on tar road for 10km then ride on dirt fo 40, 50 70 even 100km.

I've given up putting a bike in a car to go cycle!

I stay across the road from the Spruit so I too have decided not to drive my bike anywhere. I do however think it is important to support these guys putting up these bike parks as well. Also need to go there to do anything exciting as all these pussies riding the Spruit are getting any half decent obstacle taken down.

Logwood is a world class bike park. They have really done a fantastic job of it. I often use the park to do technical training for my high school cyclists. Thumbs up for logwood.

Logwood, NF, Groenkloof, Spruit, van Gaalens etc are all nice for their own reasons.

Personaly I'm not a huge fan of bike 'parks', seems to much like a hamster in a wheel.

Dassie likes to explore, Dassie likes to meander! Big%20smile

But, there is a market for it and MTB has grown as a sport so there is a huge sector that needs catering for and a having bike park/s nearby to ride at does make a nice change from time to time.
