what on earth are you doing in JHB CBD on a sunday morning.

It's the safest place in Jo'burg. It is dead quiet there on a Sunday morning.

Eddie is forgetful,New Horizons Cycling club(Orange train) Jozi is the safest place for a Sunday ride, we done the 94.7 route.

Politics kept us out. How do you run an event in the townships and the club benefiting is a wealthy suburban club. Last year Bionic creamed R300 000-00 from the event. This year Letabo only offered R30 000-00 which you can see is a pittance. Wonder what they offered the other club as well. This is how the sport is taken for a ride by certain race organizers which commercially is their perogative to make a quick buck.Imagine how much of the prize monies they tried holding back for some reason or other, who's coffers does it actually end up in? What share of this money actually ends up in the community schemes? How does cycling benefit from this.

it is easy saying what you want the public to hear via your website but to actually stand by what you promise is another story.

Sorry I was away a Sun City for a loooong weekend.

Interesting what you say about Tour de Soweto. Pity we didn't know beforehand. I was one of those complaining about categories being scrapped and no prize money paid out. I have emailed the organisers several times and have not had a reply yet. I have also taken it up with CSA and have been promised a phone call but so far nothing.

It is not the money which annoys me but the principle but if you advertise an event with certain categories you cannot then simply scrap those categories at prize giving without even making an announcement. It boils down to false advertising. Apparently one of the organisers was seen walking around after prize giving with prize envelopes which were not handed out for whatever reason.

I wonder what Vodacom as title sponsors feel about the event?

Huge pity because the race itself was good and I haven't seen crowd support like that at any race except maybe up Suikerbossie at the Argus.

What the race organizers don't seem to grasp is that persons such as yourself actually make the race what it is and then they screw you because your cat does not have the required number of entries which they fail to notify you upfront about on the entries. Bet you they will never cancel the pro's monies.
